AirPack Backs – Protect Your Back with Inflatable Cushion Ergonomic Backpack Helps Improve Posture, Comfort and Support For many students lugging heavy books and laptops, a backpack too often means back pain. Although physicians recommend that students carry a maximum of 15% of their body weight on their shoulders and backs, studies show younger students are hauling as much as 40%. For a 100-pound student, that’s a 40-pound load instead of the preferred 15-pound limit. Gravity isn’t kind when you are carrying more than you should. If you can’t lighten the load, at least consider a better backpack. The AirPack Backpack features an inflatable cushion that reduces back stress by up to 80%, lightening the effective load by 50%. The cushion acts as a fulcrum to redistribute weight from the shoulders to the hips. The patented, ergonomic design of AirPack Backpacks improves posture, comfort and support. Orthopedic professionals developed AirPacks to relieve stress on growing spines. An ordinary, too heavily loaded backpack can pull a child backward, causing the child to lean forward to compensate. The prolonged strain can result in shoulder, neck and back pain or injury. Younger children, along with many girls, could be at greater risk for backpack problems because they are smaller than older children and girls may still carry similar-sized loads. In addition to the air cushion, AirPack Backpacks help relieve back pain by using foam-cushioned shoulder straps and top and bottom straps that automatically adjust side-to-side to help maintain correct ergonomic support. AirPacks are offered in three sizes to give a proportional fit to students of all ages. Another model, the mesh AirPacks, allows the contents of the backpack to be seen – as some schools require for security reasons -- without opening it. AirPacks also feature numerous compartments to hold particular items, everything from books to water bottles. Compartments help spread a load across a backpack, one more way to reduce back pain and strain. Like all Core Products, AirPack Backpacks offer noninvasive solutions to better health through quality items made primarily in the U.S. The Large #4500, features a new built in padded compartment that can accommodate a standard sized laptop computer. The Large is designed to carry the heaviest load in our product assortment and fits larger frame students of all ages who are 5' 5" or taller or whose body measures 17" or more from the top of the shoulder to the natural waist. Physicians recommend that students carry no more than 15% of their body weight on their shoulders and backs, yet studies show younger students are lugging as much as 40% each day. Standard ergonomic design features include: patented lumbar air cushion and wider, foam cushioned shoulder straps, adjustable both top and bottom with unique slide strapping that automatically adjust side-to-side to help maintain correct ergonomic support. Additional features include: padded haul handle, built in padded laptop compartment, two large interior compartment for heavier books and other necessities, side cinch straps to secure extra load closer to the back, a large front pocket with organizer for notebooks, pens and pencils (even a handy key keeper, CD player pocket and headphone ports), a front zipper pocket, padded haul handle, one side mesh bottle pocket, one side fabric pocket with buckle and a new detachable cell phone/mp3 holder.
